Out of sight out of mind – gaining brand awareness on social media

Scenario : Danny is a well respected and successful Master Broker in the intermediary space. He didn’t need us to be successful. He just needed us to help him become VISIBLE. 

He felt that his existing clients would never see him unless they had a meeting or a telephone conversation, but there just isn’t enough time to keep meeting and calling people.  

Danny from Grey Matters Specialist Lending (GMSL) approached us to increase his brand awareness amongst his existing clients and prospective ones too. 

He wanted to be more present and easily contactable without having to constantly book meetings and make telephone calls. 

Danny will tell you himself… he enjoys the odd gold game so time freedom and flexibility is a huge priority in his business. 

He wanted to register more mortgage brokers at GMSL to increase the brokerage’s bottom line, but how?

Challenge: He has had a very deep rooted negative perception of social media because he sees many people not using it very well and this has put him off. 

So we had a big challenge on our hands: How do we get Danny to use social media well enough to a) see the benefits and get results b) look credible and professional c) stay committed and motivated? 

Solution: Luckily, Danny has a wonderful PA and administrator who could do a lot of the heavy lifting with us. 

He wouldn’t have to outsource the entire project to us therefore also save on costs. 

We taught them as a team everything they need to know about content marketing and lead generation on social media. 

The main social media channel we worked on with them was LinkedIn. 

Although Danny tried to use TikTok for a short while, we dropped this plan as it wasn’t necessary for his ideal audience.

Result: Danny has become more visible online without doing all of the leg work. 

Brokers are approaching him to discuss specialist lending and he’s easily recognised at events. 

He’s also been recognised by lenders and networks too who have noticed his content. 

He’s even been featured in a leading industry magazine called Mortgage Strategy, highlighting his work and experience. 

He’s seen as a thought leader in the specialist lending industry and is now more confident sharing his story to the broker community.
